UTT amongst first Tank Operators to gain C-TPAT partner status.
As a commitment to the US market for liquid bulk chemical logistics, United Transport Tankcontainers has achieved Customs – Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) certification from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).UTT have over 20 years of safe and successful global intermodal logistics and have safety, security and quality at the heart of their processes and procedures. UTT decided to meet the requirements head on.
C-TPAT is a joint US Government business initiative designed to strengthen overall supply chains and border security. This works through the close co-operation with the ultimate owners of the supply chain – importers, carriers, brokers, warehouse operators and manufacturers. Through this initiative, US customs is asking business to ensure the integrity of their security practices and communicate their security guidelines to business partners in the chain.
The benefits of becoming C-TPAT certified are clear. Those shipments going into the US that are C-TPAT compliant will be able to move across US borders quicker than those who are not certified. Most notable amongst these are the reduced number of inspections required for C-TPAT certified companies.
CEO of UTT, Koert Van Wissen commented, “ We are delighted to be awarded with C-TPAT certification. It underlines our ongoing commitment to the US marketplace and we are pleased to assist with their efforts in securing borders and ensuring the continued free flow of trade”.
